A worker had an unexpected surprise when a kitten suddenly appeared in the warehouse, darting out from between barrels and leaping into the arms of everyone present.

Last week, Steve, an employee of Alamance Oil Co, was quietly working in the warehouse when a tiny furball emerged from among the motor oil barrels. The kitten had somehow made her way into the warehouse all on her own. As soon as she spotted Steve, she dashed towards him, displaying no fear and a clear craving for affection.

“We believe she was lost and possibly in search of food. She was an instant cuddle-bug,” shared an office worker of the company with Love Meow.

Steve brought the kitten to the office, where she immediately charmed everyone present. They decided to name her ‘Stevie Nix’. Upon feeding her, she let out a loud, deep meow while enjoying her meal. After eating heartily and quenching her thirst, she was content and started socializing with all the employees, demanding attention and cuddles.

Employees rushed to the store to get cat food, a litter box, and other supplies for the kitten. They cleaned her up as she had oily fur from the warehouse. She adored human touch and would happily lie on Ms. Yarbrough’s desk if given the opportunity.

The playful kitten turned the office into her personal playground. She climbed onto desks to inspect office supplies and checked the computer, offering her “assistance”. She particularly sought attention from Ms. Yarbrough.

“She would sleep on her arm. You could pick her up, and she would be calm and cuddly.”

The kitten had no known owner, and no one came forward to claim her. A staff member reached out to Stephanie Grantham, co-founder of Sparkle Cat Rescue, in hopes of providing the kitten with the care and a loving home she needed.

“They kept her safe in the office until I could get her. She is about six weeks old and super sweet,” Stephanie told Love Meow. “She felt relieved to be safe when the office staff took care of her and loved on her.”

The kitten nestled sweetly in Stephanie’s arms when she was picked up. Her purring indicated her contentment as they headed to her foster home. She relished being held and was curious about her new surroundings.

In no time, the kitten adapted to her new environment, playing energetically as if she owned the place. She had plenty of toys and was showered with affection.

She enjoyed her indoor life to the fullest, playing, cuddling, and lounging in her comfy bed. The tabby kitten still had some growing to do and

skills to hone before she’d be ready for adoption.

After a day full of playful antics, the sweet kitten would stretch out on her bed and drift off to sleep, dreaming of all the wonderful things.
