Rachel Weisz, the Black Widow actress, has revealed during an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert that she has never seen Star Wars. However, her husband, Daniel Craig, and their 5-year-old daughter had been bonding over the space-opera franchise, watching the original films together. But, according to Weisz, their daughter became so obsessed with Star Wars that they had to tell her it was “broken” to ease her fascination.

Weisz described her daughter as being “obsessed with mythology,” wanting to know everything about the Star Wars universe, including what Darth Vader looks like under his mask. Concerned about the intensity of her daughter’s obsession, Weisz approached Craig about it, and he decided to tell their daughter that Star Wars was broken.

The incident took place in London, and when the family arrived in New York, Weisz’s daughter asked if Star Wars was broken there too. Weisz confirmed that it was, maintaining the story they had told their daughter.

During their Star Wars bonding sessions, Craig even shared with their daughter his small cameo in 2015’s The Force Awakens. Craig played a Stormtrooper who released Daisy Ridley’s character, Rey, from captivity. However, Craig had not expected to have a speaking role and ended up spending three hours with J.J. Abrams doing all the dialogue.

In the interview with Colbert, Weisz also discussed her role in the new Marvel movie, Black Widow, and how it was a collaborative effort with director Cate Shortland. She also talked about her admiration for the film’s stunt performers and how much hard work goes into making an action movie.
