Actress Tori Spelling has opened up about a serious eye infection she suffered after neglecting to care for her contact lenses. The Beverly Hills, 90210 star admitted on her 9021OMG podcast that she had developed a corneal ulcer in her left eye due to her failure to regularly remove and change her contact lenses. Tori confessed to wearing the same pair of lenses for possibly up to 20 days and sleeping in them, ignoring the advice of medical professionals.

Many of her fans expressed their concern on social media, with some commenting on the dangers of leaving contact lenses in for extended periods. The NHS warns that contact lens wearers are at higher risk of developing corneal ulcers, particularly if they wear extended-wear lenses overnight, and that bacterial infections are a common risk associated with wearing contact lenses.

Tori’s corneal ulcer could have caused permanent damage and potentially resulted in a corneal transplant if left untreated. She was advised by her doctor to use antibiotic eye drops, and she was hopeful that her eye would heal within a week to 10 days.

The actress was seen wearing a bedazzled eye patch while out and about, which sparked concern among her fans. However, Tori was quick to assure them that she was receiving treatment for the ulcer and that she was on the road to recovery.
